The value of your gold depends on three key factors:

– Purity (karat level, like 10k, 14k, 18k, etc.)
– Weight (measured in grams)
– Current market price (live rates change daily)

We use professional tools to test and weigh your items right in front of you. You can also check our Live Gold Prices anytime to see what we’re paying.

我如何知道我得到了最優惠的價格?

At Canada Gold, we believe in complete transparency — both online and in person.

We publish our live gold and silver prices on our website, so you can always see exactly what we’re paying before you visit. When you come in, we test and assess your items right in front of you, explain every step clearly, and answer any questions you have — no pressure, no surprises.

At every step, you’ll know exactly what’s happening — and exactly what your items are worth.

We also offer the highest payouts in the industry for jewellery, backed by our 最優惠價格保證.  If you have a written offer for your jewellery from another gold buyer in the same city on the same day, we’ll beat it by 20% of the difference.

Can I test my jewellery at home?

There are a couple of easy at-home tests that can give you a rough idea of what your jewellery is made of:

– Magnet Test: Gold is not magnetic, so if your item sticks to a strong magnet, it’s likely not real gold. (But if it doesn’t stick, that doesn’t guarantee it’s real either — many other metals aren’t magnetic.)
– Look for stamps: Common gold hallmarks include 10k, 14k, 18k, or 24k, as well as 417, 585, or 999. These markings can help you identify purity, but they’re not always accurate, especially on older or imported items.

Still unsure? Bring it in. We’ll test it for free — no pressure to sell.

如何分辨我的物品是純金還是鍍金?

Gold-plated items often look real, but they contain only a thin layer of gold over a base metal like brass or copper. These items typically have little to no melt value.

Here’s how we can tell the difference:

– Scratch testing reveals what’s beneath the surface.
– X-ray fluorescence (XRF) can measure purity without damaging the item.

Our staff will explain the results clearly, so you know exactly what you have — and whether it’s worth selling.

Do you buy diamonds or gemstones?

Yes — we do buy jewellery with diamonds and other gemstones.

– For diamonds, we assess clarity, cut, carat, and colour, and make an offer based on market demand.
– For gemstones, we’ll evaluate them case by case. Some may add value to your payout, while others (like small accent stones or non-precious gems) may not significantly affect the offer.

You’re welcome to keep any stones if you prefer — we’re happy to remove them for you whenever possible.

Where can I buy gold or silver from you?

You can buy gold and silver directly from any of our 16 locations across Canada. Just walk in — no appointment needed.

We offer:

– Gold and silver bars and coins
– Royal Canadian Mint products
– Collector and commemorative coins
– Estate and vintage jewellery (varies by location)

How is Canada Gold different from a pawn shop?

We’re not a pawn shop — we’re a specialized precious metals buyer and seller. That means:

– We don’t offer loans or hold items — we buy them outright.
– Our focus is on transparent pricing and honest evaluations.
– You’ll get a receipt and same-day payment — no hidden fees, no pressure.

We treat every transaction with professionalism and care. Our goal is to help you understand exactly what your items are worth and why. Learn more about us and our history 這裡.

How do I know if a gold dealer is legitimate?

If you’re wondering whether a gold dealer is trustworthy, there are a few key warning signs to watch for:

  • No ID required — By law, reputable gold buyers must ask for government-issued ID.

  • Too-good-to-be-true offers — Be cautious of unusually high prices without proper testing or explanation.
  • No written offer or receipt — You should always receive clear documentation of the transaction.
  • Pressure tactics — A trustworthy dealer will never rush, pressure, or intimidate you into selling.

If you notice any of these red flags, it’s a good idea to step back and get a second opinion.

At Canada Gold, we offer free, no-obligation testing and explain every step of the process clearly. If something doesn’t feel right elsewhere, trust your instincts — and feel free to visit us for a second opinion.
