Blue Monday, Reframed: Spreading Positivity

Fév 2, 2026

Blue Monday is often described as the most challenging day of the year. Falling in mid-January, it arrives when holiday energy has faded, winter feels long, and many people are navigating colder days and quieter moments. While the concept itself isn’t rooted in science, the feelings often associated with it are very real.

This year, Canada Gold chose to reframe Blue Monday, not as a day to dwell on difficulty, but as an opportunity to come together and share a little extra kindness.

A Community Moment That Meant a Lot

2016 $10 Winter Fun Pure Silver Coin

From January 12 to January 26, 2026, our Blue Monday campaign invited our community to do something simple yet meaningful: share uplifting, hopeful, or lighthearted words with one another.

What followed truly exceeded our expectations.

Your comments, quotes, and messages filled our feeds with encouragement, humour, and warmth. They reminded us that even during the colder, quieter months, small moments of positivity can make a genuine difference.

It was about connection, community, and creating space for people to lift one another up, and you showed up wholeheartedly.

Words That Brightened the Day

Sometimes, the right words arrive at exactly the right moment. As part of this campaign, we wanted to share a few quotes that remind us of resilience, optimism, and perspective.

Maya Angelou Quote

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”

— Maya Angelou

Dolly Parton Quote and Michael Scott Quote

“The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”

– Dolly Parton

“‘You miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take.’ – Wayne Gretzky”

– Michael Scott

Each of these quotes carries a simple but powerful message: challenges are part of the journey, and optimism can exist alongside difficulty.

Why This Campaign Matters to Us

At Canada Gold, we work with precious metals every day, but we know that real value often goes beyond the tangible. Trust, kindness, and community are just as important to us as transparency and expertise.

The Blue Monday campaign reflected those values. It reminded us how powerful a collective moment of positivity can be, and how meaningful it is to create space for people to connect, even in small ways.

Whether you shared a quote, left a comment, or simply read through the messages, thank you for being part of it. You helped turn a traditionally “blue” day into something brighter.

We’re grateful to be part of such a thoughtful and engaged community, and we’re excited for what’s ahead as we move into February.

Stay connected with Canada Gold on our socials for future campaigns, stories, and community moments.

Sometimes, all it takes is a few kind words to make a difference.
