Our Flagship Store in Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant is one of Vancouver’s most creative and energetic neighbourhoods.

Main Street and the surrounding blocks are known for independent boutiques, vintage shops, cafés, restaurants, breweries and colourful public murals. Heritage Hall, a local landmark dating back to 1914, is also nearby.

It is the kind of neighbourhood that invites you to stay awhile. Customers often combine a visit to Canada Gold with shopping, coffee or a walk along Main Street.

Inside the store, display cases featuring jewellery and precious metal products offer plenty to explore before or after your evaluation.

A Vancouver Heritage Building With a Remarkable Past

Our flagship store occupies a limestone and brick heritage building originally constructed in 1929 as a Bank of Montreal branch.

Designed by Vancouver architects J.J. Honeyman and George Curtis, the building has remained part of the Main Street landscape through decades of change. Over the years, it has housed several different businesses, including a western boot store, a bath showroom and a lending company.

Canada Gold relocated here from its former West Broadway location in May 2025.

Original architectural details, including the bank vaults and carved stonework, have been preserved, creating a space that feels both historic and distinctly modern.

It is a fitting home for a business built around value, trust and meaningful exchanges.

Expert Precious Metal Evaluations

Customers visit our Vancouver location with everything from individual rings and broken chains to bullion, coin collections and large quantities of silver.

Our team evaluates each item carefully and explains the process along the way. Testing is completed openly so you can see what we are doing and understand how purity, weight and current precious metal prices contribute to the value of your items.

There is never any obligation to sell.

Our goal is to provide the information you need to make a confident decision, whether you are ready to sell that day or simply want to understand what you own.

Specialized Knowledge Available On Site

Our Vancouver flagship offers access to additional expertise for customers with more complex or unusual items.

A gemologist is available on site, and a numismatic specialist is available Monday through Friday to assist with collectible coins and currency.

This allows our team to look beyond precious metal content when an item may have additional value based on its gemstones, rarity, condition, history or collectibility.

Customers are welcome to bring in:

A Spacious, Welcoming Environment

The Vancouver store includes approximately six to eight evaluation stations, allowing our team to assist several customers while maintaining a comfortable and personal experience.

The large, thoughtfully restored interior feels open, secure and warm. Customers can browse the display cases, use the penny press or explore available Canada Gold Coin and 100 Ways products while waiting.

The goal was not simply to create a larger store. It was to create a flagship space that reflects the values behind Canada Gold: professionalism, education, efficiency and integrity in service.

Parking and Accessible Entry

Three complimentary customer parking spaces are available behind the building.

To reach the parking area, travel westbound on Broadway and turn right into the alley. From there, customers can access the rear entrance.

An accessible ramp is available at the back door. The Main Street entrance does not currently have a ramp, so customers using wheelchairs, mobility scooters or other mobility aids may find the rear entrance more convenient.

Our team is always happy to provide assistance where needed.

From Vancouver Beginnings to a New Flagship

Canada Gold began in Vancouver in 2008, when brothers Charlie and Chris set out to create a more transparent and respectful way for people to sell precious metals.

The company’s first storefront opened nearby in 2010 and served thousands of customers before the move to 2490 Main Street.

Today, the flagship location represents both where Canada Gold began and where the company is going next.

It is a space built to honour the history of the neighbourhood, preserve the character of a remarkable building and continue helping customers understand the value of the items they bring through our doors.
